Quick Mask (Q)
Paint Brush (B)
Eraser Tool (E)
Copy (CTRL + C)
Paste (CTRL + V)
Transform (CTRL + T)

Step 1- Open the subject you wish to cut out.  Using the MAGNETIC LASSO, do a quick lasso around the outside of the subject.  It won't be exact but will do most of the hard work for you.

Step 2- Select Quick Mask mode which floods the back ground with red to show what you are getting rid of.

Step 3- Use eraser tool to remove red on parts of the subject you wish to keep and paint brush tool to fill in parts you want to get rid of.

Step 4- When it is PERFECT, switch QUICK MASK mode off.  Now the subject is surrounded by 'marching ants' meaning it is selected.

Step 5- CTRL + X to cut out your subject.

Step 6- Open your new background.  Make sure the image is large enough to prevent the final product from becoming pixilated or blurry.
hint: make sure you OPEN WITH > PHOTOSHOP

Step 7- CTRL + V to past in the subject in the new background.

Step 8- CTRL + T to open the TRANSFORM function.  You may now adjust the subject to the correct size and location in the frame.
hint: hold down shift while changing size to maintain proportion.
